Decorating for Christmas

stardecorIt’s the day after Thanksgiving, and so, by family tradition, we’re decorating the house for Christmas. This means pulling all of the tubs, bags and boxes down from storage. It means putting in the Christmas music CDs to listen to while we work. And it means placing dozens of different and special decorations in practically every corner of the living room and visitor’s area of our apartment. This year (and thankfully, every year from here on out) is much easier for yours truly, as the older kids are big enough to actually help and do a lot of the work. My kids love going through all of the boxes, pulling out remembered and well-loved decorations and putting them in their traditional places, just as I did when I was a kid. It’s a great time to be a family.

  1. “By tradition”? That’s “by law.” 🙂

(And it’s playlists on the iPod this year. Think of it as a new tradition.)
