A book on the Black Plague and time travel combined! What’s not to like? I really enjoyed this book. It was well-researched, well-written and the themes explored were interesting and unflinching. It’s my favorite of Connie Willis’ that I’ve read so far. Parts of it get a bit tedious, and it is pretty long, but overall, it flows well and makes sense. I really enjoyed the historical accuracy as well as the raw and brutal exploration of life in medieval England through the eyes of a future time-traveler.
